At the IX Forum of Nursing Specialties, entitled “Health Literacy in the Digital Age: Challenges for Specialized Nursing” and organized by the Nursing School (Porto) of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, will be discussed the essential role of specialist nurses in promoting health literacy within an increasingly digital and technology-mediated context.

What competencies are required to support citizens and communities in the critical and safe use of digital health information? How can specialist nurses integrate digital tools and electronic health data into their practice while preserving ethics, empathy, and quality of care?

These and other key questions will be explored throughout the meeting, which will bring together professionals, faculty members, and researchers to reflect on the emerging challenges and opportunities of specialized nursing in the digital era.
