The Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto once again opened its doors to the professional future of its students with another edition of RUMO, a career fair that this year welcomed 68 national and international companies to the campus.

“This is an event that fills us with pride and one that is already becoming a tradition in our university,” said Isabel Braga da Cruz, Pro-Rector of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa for the Porto campus. Highlighting its role as a space for dialogue and proximity, she added that RUMO reinforces “Católica’s commitment to preparing its students for increasingly transversal and interdisciplinary work contexts, challenging them to integrate different areas of knowledge and skills.”

A space where talent meets opportunity

“Meeting companies, making contacts, and networking” are the goals that bring students such as Laura Damha to RUMO. Laura, who made a point of bringing her CV to hand out personally, emphasised “the importance of connecting with companies, person to person, eye to eye.” Similarly, Margarida Leite, who is about to finish her degree, values the event as an opportunity to look for internships and practical experiences that enrich her academic path, saying she feels “motivated and more informed about what to pursue and which opportunities to look for.”

On the companies’ side, the enthusiasm is mutual. For Sofia Ganchas, from Deloitte, RUMO is “a great opportunity to meet Católica’s talent” and to bring students closer to real work environments. Ricardo Ribeiro, from PwC, highlights the educational dimension of the fair: “it is an opportunity for students to meet company employees, understand their daily work, and know what to expect when entering the job market.” Addressing students, Catarina Meireles, from Infineon, advises: “don’t be afraid to take risks - apply for the roles that interest you and start networking early.”

Over two days and across 76 stands, 68 companies were present at RUMO 2025:
