Evolution and Philosophical foundations of pediatric nursing care

Learning outcomes of the Curricular Unit:

  1. Describe the theoretical framework of child health and pediatric nursing, taking into account the foundations and evolution of care for children and young people;
  2. Discuss the theoretical interface of child and pediatric health nursing with theories of child development and neurodevelopment;
  3. Analyze care centered on children, young people and families and partnerships in care in specific contexts of child and pediatric health nursing care;
  4. Know the evolution of assistance to children, young people and families as well as child and pediatric health policy;
  5. Discuss the benefits of neuroprotective care and atraumatic care in the context of nursing care in child and pediatric health;
  6. List the vision and trends in research and practice based on child and pediatric health nursing.
