Bachelor in Nursing (1980). Worked at the the IPO (Portuguese Oncology Institute) until 1984 having then become an Adjunct Professor at the Institute of Health Sciences (ICS) at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Specialized in Medical-Surgical Nursing since 1990 and in Applied Pedagogy on Nursing Teaching since 1995, having developed two research works. Master in Nursing Science since 2000 by the Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar in Porto, having published in 2004 the research work developed in the book "Experiences of Mastectomized Woman: a Phenomenological Approach to the Relationship with the Body". Obtained a PhD in Nursing in 2014 at Universidade Católica Portuguesa, with the thesis theme "Serviço-Escola: um projeto para o Ensino Clínico no Curso de Licenciatura em Enfermagem", having published in 2018 the research work developed in the book "Dedicated unit for the teaching of Nursing. A model of student orientation in Clinical Teaching". It guides students in Clinical Teaching/Internship, teaches and is the regent in several disciplines in the Graduate and Postgraduate Education in Nursing.
Led from 2014 to 2018 the coordination team of the Nursing Master Course at ICS-Porto. Member of the ICS-Porto Regional Scientific Committee and President of the Pedagogical Council of the ICS Porto School of Nursing.
