Teen Academy brings students closer to the world of nursing

The Nursing Academy: best way to choose a future, part of Católica Porto Teen Academy, runs from 13 and 16 July and invites high school students to gain practical contact with the field of nursing.

During the course, participants are challenged to explore different clinical scenarios through simulated activities designed to reflect professional reality. In this way, students have the opportunity to develop basic skills, understand teamwork dynamics and engage with tools used in the healthcare field.

The practical component plays a prominent role, using simulators and clinical scenarios that allow young people to apply knowledge and practise procedures close to real-life situations. This approach provides a better understanding of the implications of pursuing a career in nursing.

Tiago Gomes, a participant in the previous edition and currently a first-year undergraduate student, highlights the closeness to the professional context: “I really enjoyed the activities we did, very varied activities, with very realistic test mannequins, and I think it really allowed us to apply what we had learned throughout the week.”

Through a strong focus on the practical element, the School of Nursing (Porto) course aims to help students better understand the nursing profession and reflect on their academic future.

Applications are now open and places are limited.

Detailed information about each course is available on the Teen Academy website.
